Are these games region-locked?

All items at fhound japan are the Japanese edition, imported from Japan. Whether a game will run on your console depends on the console's own region policy, not on our store.

• Region-free (works on any console): most current PlayStation (PS4, PS5) and Nintendo Switch titles, and several older platforms including PS3, PS Vita, Nintendo DS, and the original Game Boy family. These typically play on any console worldwide.
• Region-locked (requires a Japanese console): older platforms including PS2, PS1, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, GameCube, N64, Super Famicom, and Famicom. These generally require a Japanese console (or a region-free/modded console) to run.
• Varies by title: Xbox platforms (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X). Region support is decided per title by the publisher, so please check the specific game before ordering.
• Not officially confirmed: Nintendo Switch 2. As of our last update, Nintendo has not published an official statement on game card region behavior for this console, so we treat all Switch 2 titles conservatively as Japanese-edition items.

What language are these games in?

Unless a product page states otherwise, our listings are the Japanese-language release. Each product page shows a language badge and, before checkout, an item-specific confirmation of the supported languages. Some titles include English or other languages alongside Japanese, and this is shown whenever it is confirmed by the listing data.

Is this the Japan version or the Asian (English) version?

Every item at fhound japan is the Japan version, sourced from the Japanese domestic market. This is different from the "Asian version" sometimes sold on other marketplaces, which is a separate, often English-language release intended for Southeast Asian and Hong Kong markets. Each product page and the cart confirmation step both state clearly that the item is the Japan version, not the Asian version.

Will DLC and add-on content work on my account?

For PlayStation platforms (PS5, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, PSP), downloadable content and add-ons are tied to the region of your PlayStation Network account, not to the disc or cartridge itself. A Japanese game disc will generally play on a non-Japanese PlayStation console, but any DLC for that game may need to be purchased from the Japanese PlayStation Store with a Japanese account.
